Call for Contributions
Dear Researchers,
The Alevi Encyclopedia is a digital platform dedicated to providing accurate and comprehensive information about Alevism. Its mission is to preserve and convey Alevi culture to future generations by presenting it within the conceptual and emotional framework of the Alevi society. This platform aims to safeguard, promote, and share the history, culture, and beliefs of Alevism with broader audiences in a holistic and accessible manner.
The primary objective of the Alevi Encyclopedia is to offer the Alevi community and the global public with a reliable, multifaceted source of information, enrich Alevi cultural memory on a scientific foundation, and protect it against external interference. In doing so, it seeks to establish a lasting knowledge platform and serve as a point of resistance against the multifaceted manipulations and erasures targeting Alevi culture.
We warmly invite esteemed academics and intellectuals to contribute to this historic endeavour. You are welcome to prepare entries in your areas of expertise, following the guidelines provided in our writing manual, and submit them for inclusion in the Alevi Encyclopedia. Your contributions will play a vital role in preserving and transmitting the Alevi heritage for future generations.
Submission Process
The final deadline for submitting entries to the Editorial Board is April 30, 2025.
The language for submissions is either Turkish or English.
Authors are kindly requested to send the topics they wish to write about, along with the relevant categories outlined in the Notes for Authors, to the Editorial Board in advance via
Detailed technical instructions and other relevant guidelines regarding the writing process can be found under the For Authors (Yazarlar İçin) section on the encyclopedia’s website.
Additionally, authors are required to provide a short biography (150–200 words) to the Editorial
Board along with their submissions.
